Title:  Transplant Fellowship Coordinator Job

Summary

With oversight and direction from the Fellowship Program Director, the Fellowship Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the educational and departmental activities and performing administrative support functions related to the ACGME accredited Transplant Fellowship program. Assists the Fellowship Program Director in developing and maintaining the educational quality of the fellowship program and ensures compliance with ACGME accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements. Serves as a liaison between the Fellowship Program Director and fellows to appropriately coordinate all aspects of the Transplant Fellowship Program’s functions. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

Education/Experience/Licensure

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple relationships at various levels and to prioritize and complete various tasks in a timely fashion.

  • Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support for Medical Director of Transplant Nephrology, Surgical Director of Kidney Transplantation for Methodist University Transplant program, Department Directors and physicians within Transpant Administration.
  • Provides administrative support for Fellowship Program Director, Assists the Fellowship Program Director with recruitment activities for fellows.  Performs duties related to the application, interviewing, and admission of prospective residents to the Program.
  • Coordinates the educational and department activities that support the Transplant fellowship program’s curriculum and adhere to ACGME requirements.
  • Provides administrative support to the Fellowship Program Director, fellows and the Transplant fellowship program.
  • Performs other job functions.

Physical Requirements

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
