Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to use a variety of patient/family /group treatment modalities.
  • A theoretical base of knowledge regarding aspects of behavior and the ability to apply knowledge as needed.
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of own and others' work flow.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of Associates, management, physicians, patients/families, and representatives of community agencies.
     

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinates transportation arrangement for out of state and in state patients and enrollment for non-insured patients.
  • Researches and locates resources for out of state patients/familes, particularly for those with financial hardships.
  • Provides resources for high cost medications. 
  • Locates local and out of state referrals for physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
  • Submits and faxes orders to the out of state patients’ local providers or DME companies for any supplies, as needed.
  • Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
     

Physical Requirements

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
  • Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
  • Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
