Summary

Responsible for coordinating, developing, and implementing program services and activities. Represents MLH’s mission to help provide access and excellent holistic care to all persons. Collects and analyzes data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating program services and activities. Coordinates the day-to-day operations of other Outreach Coordinators by assigning, monitoring and reviewing the progress and accuracy of work, and directing efforts and providing guidance on more complex issues. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree required. Program specific requirements for degree field.

Must have at least four (4) years of outreach experience

Certifications and/or licensure as required upon employment.

PREFERRED:

Master’s degree in health related field

One to three years of community development or healthcare experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office program or programs as indicated in the specific function within the department.
  • Knowledge of connection between theology, health and wellness.
  • Knowledge of church staffs, programs and resources in the regional area.
  • Specialized knowledge (such as culture, language, general medical condition, geographic area, or congregation) of the targeted community or group is preferred when appropriate.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the day-to-day operations of Outreach Coordinators.
  • Provides direction, training and support for the specific assigned community program using approved program methods and content.
  • Proactively coordinates program activities to meet the needs of identified clients with attention to detail.
  • With minimum supervision, implements program activities to meet the needs of identified clients.
  • Assists with evaluating effectiveness of program activities.
  • Demonstrates effective planning, time management, creativity, self-development, and professional competency.
  • Performs other job functions as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
