Summary

Autonomously performs service work and preventative maintenance and repairs on specialized building systems such as mechanical, electrical/ electronic, hydraulics, carpentry or machine servicing.  Leads other Facility Services Associates by assigning/planning/scheduling work and reviewing quality of work performed. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Two (2) years of experience in general maintenance and repairs.

Associate’s Degree in Mechanics, Maintenance, Electronics, or related field.

  • Good written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to read and write and to communicate verbally an in writing with other individuals.

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.

  • Ability to work from drawings, diagrams, sketches and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to organize tasks and maintain control of work flow.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Performs and oversees work orders for preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems.

  • Determines the nature of the problem and ensures that repairs are completed in a timely manner.

  • Performs and guides the maintenance of machinery incidental to system operations.

  • Demonstrates effective customer service skills promoting a positive work environment and contributes to the overall team effort.

  • Understands and applies all policies, procedures and standards.

  • Demonstrates safe work practices and visibly leads other Associates in supporting a strong safety culture.

     

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional work performed outdoors.

  • Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.

  • Occasional travel to other locations.

  • The physical activities of this position may include squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.

  • Must have good balance and coordination.

  • The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.

  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.

  • The Associate may be required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
