Summary

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records.
- Ability to communicate verbally with all level of associates, management, physicians, patients and their families.
- Ability to follow established procedures and regulations.
- Ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative.
- Basic knowledge of PC and radio communications hardware and dispatching software.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Prioritizes transportation requests according to the patient’s acuity to ensure that emergent transportation requests receive priority.
- Documents any quality and service incidents concerning any problems that may occur in the course of a shift.
- Maintains a basic understanding of insurance and issuing payment authorizations.
- Performs other functions as needed.
Physical Requirements
- The ability to sit for long periods in a call center environment.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- Ability to react quickly and calmly to emergency situations.
