Summary

Provides leadership, consultation, and training in organizational efforts to design and implement behavioral health integration throughout ambulatory primary care clinics, including both adult and pediatric practices. Collaborates with the leadership team of the Physician Enterprise and Le Bonheur Pediatrics to define, develop, and implement a vision and operational program for providing integrated behavioral and mental health services in primary care. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

REQUIRED:

PhD or PsyD in Psychology

Must have at least five (5) years of experience as a licensed mental health provider, supervisor and educator.

Licensed Psychologist with Health Service Provider (HSP) in the state where work performed.

PREFERRED:

Experience in the fiscal, organizational and clinical integration of behavioral health in a primary health care setting.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic principles of research, statistics, data collection, and analysis.
  • Ability to assess primary care patients across the lifespan, make diagnostic impressions and implement treatment plans with information from primary care provider and treatment team.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise appropriate action and good business judgement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, organizes tasks, and maintains control of workflow.
  • Ability to evaluate abstract medical data and effectively analyze the data, identifies problems, and makes recommendations.
  • Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups toward the accomplishment of assigned tasks and organizational goals.
  • Requires an exceptional communicator to effectively collaborate with all levels of Associates, management, physicians, patients and their families.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications and experience with database systems.
  • Experienced in providing team-based clinical services both in-person and via telehealth.
  • Strong organizational, managerial, and supervisory skills.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Designs and oversees the behavioral health integration for MMG and Le Bonheur Pediatrics.
  • Provides direct and/or indirect integrated behavioral health care services including the provision of patients’ assessments, brief interventions and consultations as necessary for program development efforts and meeting clinical needs.
  • Manages implementation of behavioral health and facilitate/train behavioral health associates, including recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, directing, and evaluating all staff members.
  • Establishes behavioral assessments and treatment protocols in primary care for adult and pediatric practices.
  • Provides consultations to primary care providers, behavioral health providers, and care team members regarding behavioral health standards of care, regulatory issues, and care management decision-making and ethical practices.
  • Monitors the clinical performance of the behavioral health program through continuous quality improvement activities in conjunction with senior behavioral health leadership.
  • Ensures the financial sustainability of the behavioral health program in conjunction with the CFO and senior behavioral health leader.
  • Collaborates alongside other behavioral health leaders in creating and sustaining a training program for behavioral health students to enhance community workforce development.

  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
