Summary

The Groundskeeper is responsible for the upkeep and care and general maintenance of the exterior buildings and grounds. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

Education/Experience/Licensure

• Ability to organize tasks and maintain control of work flow.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Maintains sidewalks and parking lots to include pressure washing and removal of trash and debris.
• Responsible for the upkeep and general maintenance of MLH exterior buildings and grounds.
• Performs and follows all planning and Construction Department safety rules and guidelines.
• Cleans daily, all outside areas of the facility.
• In winter months, shovel snow and spread sand or chemicals on sidewalks, parking lots, and steps to keep cleared.

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials, temperatures of extreme hot and cold, and high levels of noise.
• Daily work performed outdoors.
• Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
• Normal vision, including color and night vision.
• Ability to lift, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, squat, kneel, reach, bend, crawl and twist throughout the shift.
• Ability to use hands and feet together for repetitive, coordinated motions.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motion.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
