Title:  Program Accreditation Manager/Oncology Job

Summary

The Oncology Program Accrediation Manager is responsible for leading and maintain all accreditation efforts and standards for Methodist Cancer Institute Oncology program and plays a key role in determining the strategic priorities and direction of the program as it relates to accreditation. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. 

Education/Experience/Licensure

  Education/Formal Training Work Experience Credential/Licensure
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field. 3 years of  Oncology and Compliance experience N/A
PREFERRED:  Master’s degree in healthcare or related field. N/A N/A
SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED: High school diploma/GED equivalent and 7 years of experience in Oncology or Compliance in lieu of educational and experience requirements. N/A N/A

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to function with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate and relate with high level Associates within the hospital and in community.  Tact, diplomacy, and good judgment skills are essential.
  • Skill and proficiency in word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.  
  • Compils data and develop reports.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and exercise independent judgement.
  • Ability to organize, manage time and maintain control of own workflow.
     

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Assures CoC standards for the various sites ie. Rectal and Breast, QOPI, Radiation Oncology and other identified quality organizations.
  • Compiles data and reports results to the Cancer Committee.
  • Assures re-accreditation of all current programs.
  • Partners with BMT to assure FACT accreditation is accomplished.
  • Identify needs for additional areas of accreditation across the service line.
  • Develops reports for use during various surveys.
     

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional travel to other facilities.
  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
