The Pharmacy 340B Analyst is responsible for managing the 340B program, which includes program compliance and integrity, and reporting of performance metrics. Ensures that all use of the 340B program is fully compliant and being utilized properly. Maintains system databases up to date with current drug formulary or product specifications. Assists the pharmacy administration staff with drug purchasing, inventory processes, dispensing, and ensuring Federal 340B standards are being met. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.




Work Experience



Associate’s degree in Health Science, Information Systems, System Administration, Allied Health related field or Business administration

  • Minimum of three years of pharmacy technician experience or experience working in a pharmacy setting
  • Experience working with electronic health records systems.
  • Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Registered with the Relevant State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician


Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, System Administration, Allied Health related field or Business administration

Strong knowledge related to compliance with government regulations, auditing processes, project management, or pharmacy operations

  • Ability to read, comprehend and prepare moderately complex written materials such legislation and legal documentation.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Assists in maintaining, reviewing, and evaluating 340B contracts, including current and future contract opportunities.
  • Maintains system databases to reflect changes in the drug formulary or product specifications.
  • Collaborates with pharmacy purchasing agents regarding drug selection, ordering, procurement, and inventory management.
  • Works with pharmacy administration to review 340B formulary pricing, potential alternatives, and potential savings.
  • Assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining 340B policies and procedures according to all standards required by current state, federal and system requirements. Reviews 340B Program policies and procedures on an ongoing basis and offer changes to ensure 340B compliance.
  • Ensures that the HRSA 340B database is accurate.
  • Develops knowledge and maintain awareness of current regulations, trends, and issues pertaining to the 340B program.
  • Assists with assessing the impact of and implementing changes as a result of policy updates from HRSA and OPA.
  • Collaborates with pharmacy and system leadership to determine the best use of the 340B program resources and staff.
  • Assists in designing monthly, quarterly, and yearly audit and reporting metrics.
  • Develops, monitors, and presents reports on the 340B program that show utilization, impact of on operating expenses/savings, areas of risk, risk mitigation strategies, and exceptions/discrepancies to pharmacy and administrative leadership.
  • Oversees audit data to assure proper processes are followed and to identify areas for process/program improvement. Maintains all reporting records.
  • Develops and provides appropriate training and education materials for all employees involved in the 340B process.
  • Attends educational trainings including conferences, webinars, roundtables as necessary.
  • May assist in precepting pharmacy students or residents about 340B programs and operations.

Physical Requirements

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
