REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations or similar field.

Five years’ experience in non-profit fund raising, marketing, and public relations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to communicate complex material to all levels of management and outside parties, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups of people toward the accomplishment of work and organizational goals.
  • Skill in arbitrating between, negotiating with and persuading individuals and groups of people both inside and outside Methodist Health Systems.
  • Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects and to maintain control of work flow.
  • Ability to use wealth screening tools to evaluate and identify donor prospects.
  • Use of Raiser’s Edge.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and directing the major gifts program and supporting staffing in the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gifts.
  • Responsible for the planning, organization, management and execution of all major gifts activities and strategies in assigned areas.
  • Supports overall strategies to achieve Foundation’s goals whenever necessary and appropriate.
  • Establishes, oversees and implements Grateful Patient strategic plan.
  • Provides in-patient and outpatient support for VIP patients and donors, when appropriate.
  • Responsible for working with key staff members to develop strategic fundraising plans and naming opportunities for assigned areas when appropriate.

Physical Requirements

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
  • Ability to travel to other facilities to meet potential donors.
  • Ability to be “on-call” when needed and to provide support as requested/needed.
