Title:  IT Testing Coordinator - HYBRID Job

Summary

Responsible for developing standard IT testing methodologies, maintaining a central repository of testing resources, and coordinating an enterprise testing/quality assurance approach to testing technical systems, applications, and infrastructure. Coordinates with application and project teams to utilize and enhance the existing testing methodology, work products, templates, and procedures by automating testing tools and methods. Familiar with both automated and manual testing approaches. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in The Methodist Mission, Vision and Values.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business management or related field.

Must have minimum (4) years as a software tester

PMP/Six Sigma Certification

  • High degree of proficiency in verbal and written communications; must excel in communication/presentation skills, with ability to tailor communication to various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to understand complex conceptual and logical application architecture data flow as well as problem solving and use case and test case development.
  •    Ability to use and achieve high proficiency in the use of Methodist standard computer-based automation tools.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint, and Visio.
  • Ability to foster best practices for software quality assurance as well as an SDLC approach to contribute to higher quality in software and services and familiar with standard software development and package implementation strategies.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develops standard IT testing methodology for testing software configuration and ongoing maintenance for application testing tools and templates.
  • Coordinates test schedules across applications and events including virtual sessions to maximize participation and outcomes.
  • Analyzes, coordinates, and tracks QA testing efforts throughout project life cycle, including development and maintenance of an executive dashboard and standard reports to communicate testing status and results.
  • Manages the testing timeline and resources requirements, development of test conditions and scenarios required to validate system functionality, development of expected results of testing events and the execution of the tests and coordinates verification of actual results.
  • Defines and executes automated and manual test scripts to ensure quality of packaged software applications. Develops comprehensive online test script repository and workflow-based script routing process.
  • Reviews technical designs, mock-ups, scripts, and other work products for new functionality/features.
  • Develops testing strategy and application acceptance criteria.
  • Applies and upholds software QA methodologies and standards.
  • Reviews, tracks, and validate software requirements documentation for testing traceability and coverage.

Physical Requirements

  • Subject to call back at all times.
  • Subject to travel to other cities via airline and other commercial conveyances for training or other activities.
  • Must provide own transportation to any Methodist operating unit to provide consulting, training or support.
  • Subject to standard office working conditions with intermittent exposure to noisy computer equipment.
  • Required to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to interpret equipment status indicators (visual and/or auditory techniques or cues) to determine appropriate operating condition.
  • Will often experience stressful working conditions due to tight schedules and hardware or software problems.
  • Subject to regular periods of repetitive hand motion in the operation of computer terminals and other equipment.
  • Must have normal or corrected-to-normal vision and hearing.
  • Ability to understand complex verbal and written communications and respond verbally and in writing as appropriate. Typical mediums of communication include face-to-face dialog, telephone, memos, and electronic mail.
