Manages, Creates, & Sets the medical and minor equipment capital/operational budget list for major and minor integrated construction projects and routine capital expenditures. Determines with input from stakeholders of a project the reuse of existing medical equipment as part of construction projects taking into account the life cycle, complexities and cost of moving existing equipment. Management of co-dependent healthcare technologies for successful implementations and integration and the ability to interact comfortably and successfully with individuals (both clinical & non-clinical) at all levels within the healthcare organizations(both internal & external). Education/Formal Training

Work Experience




Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related fied.

Must have at least two (2) years of medical device purchasing experience.




Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field.

Healthcare/Project/Technology management experience.

PMP (Project Management Professional)



Associates Degree in Biomedical Engineering and five (5) years of experience in lieu of education requirements.




  • Knowledgeable of the capital acquisition process including evaluating, negotiating, and the logistics of complex medical equipment purchasing utilizing ECRI benchmarking, GPO pricing, and historical/previous purchase history to obtain the most favorable pricing available.
  • Must have experience in managing multiple projects of varying deadlines and complexity at the same time.
  • Knowledge of healthcare equipment planning.
  • Knowledge of healthcare financial principles such as group purchasing, bulk buys, capital equipment purchasing, and depreciation.
  • Will have an in-depth understanding of Sharepoint and SAP
  • Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials, such as business plans.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Associates and leaders.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provides system wide equipment planning and implementation services while collaborating with support departments related to healthcare projects of every size including and up to CON preparation and major multi-year building and renovation projects.

  • Provides analytical funding scenarios to leaders for routine and project related purchases, leases, and other funding options.

  • Provide regulatory support such as training, operational/service documentation, instructions for use, etc. through the acquisition of healthcare equipment to maximize regulatory compliance.

Physical Requirements

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.

  • Must have good balance and coordination.

  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.

  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
