The Financial Systems Support Analyst I is responsible for participating in analytical activities of MLH Financial Systems Support functions including system-wide Revenue Cycle management and administering financial systems to support Billing, Follow-up, Cash Receipt, Revenue Recovery and Revenue Integrity. Independently designs, develops, enhances, and tests complete systems of complex Information Technology systems using various tools in support of business operations.  Takes initiative and exercises independent judgment to resolve urgent problems.  The incumbent works closely with all levels of management, with only moderate supervision.  The workload is medium in volume and modest in complexity and financial impact. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.



Education/Formal Training

Work Experience




Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance or related field


AAS Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance or closely related field

No experience required


Must have at least two (2) years directly related experience.









High school diplomia and eight (8) years directly related experience.




  • Expert level knowledge and experience in MS Access, Excel and related data manipulation and application development tools.
  • Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with all levels of Associates and management.
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and to maintain control of own workflow.
  • Ability to work without close supervision or guidance and to exercise independent judgement.
  • Good quantitative/problem-solving abilities including mathematical, statistical, and computer skills.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, develops and completes projects using analytical techniques for Financial Systems Support Services operations to meet corporate and department goals and objectives.
  • Identifies and plans for current and future Customer requirements.  Analyzes complex business and technical problems.
  • Designs, develops, tests and documents complex custom application software.
  • Demonstrates the value of self-development and enhancement of professional competency through Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) activities and other educational opportunities.
  • Assists in maintaining and monitoring all system-wide key financial performance indicators (KPI) and assist in achieving overall performance improvement.
  • Assists in the maintenance of cash functions for system-wide monthly collections.
  • Assists in the monitoring and maintenance of all system-wide Revenue Cycle related systems  and activities.

Physical Requirements

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
