Summary

The Truck Driver is responsible for pick up, transport, and delivery of linen and supply carts to MLH facilities. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Three (3) years of experience in tractor-trailer driving.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Driving skills commensurate with experience.

  • Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic calculations.

  • Incumbent or applicant must be deemed insurable by MLH insurance carrier; MVR will be checked prior to transfer or employment.

  • Must pass the requirements of the DOT physical examination.

  • Knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.

  • Must be able to follow written instructions with ability to read a map.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Performs pick-up and delivery of clean and dirty linen, supplies, and equipment to and from MH-MH Memphis hospital, laundry, and warehouse.

  • Transports linen, supplies and equipment to MH-MH Memphis hospitals, laundry and warehouse.

  • Maintains a clean, safe and organized work area.

  • Maintains daily logs.

     

Physical Requirements

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.

  • Must have good balance and coordination.

  • The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.

  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.

  • The Associate may be required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.).
