Summary

Le Bonheur Children's Hospital (Memphis, TN) is seeking a Director of Neuroscience Institute.  This role plans, organizes, and coordinates activities and operations in EEG, EMU, MEG, TMS, and Neurology clinic to meet department and hospital goals and objectives. Provides leadership to maximize service delivery, and establishes, manages, and monitors performance for the assigned areas. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or other Health Science related field.

Minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible management experience in clinical areas.

Current licensure in clinical area of expertise such as Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, or relevant clinical discipline from the state of where work is performed.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong ability to cultivate a clinical practice culture responsive to neurology specialty care.
  • Overall knowledge of clinical services as it relates to operations, revenue, quality, care delivery, and compliance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Demonstrated capability to establish and maintain relationships, especially with physicians and external constituencies.
  • Strong facilitation skills with proven ability in leading and facilitating teams to desired outcomes.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory (CMS, DNV), accreditation, and certification requirements and their application to neurology services.
  • Analytical ability to conceptualize in unstructured, dynamic environments requiring analysis, foresight, intuition and mature judgment as well as knowledge of theories, principles, and practices to find solutions to unusual or unprecedented problems.
  • Proven skills in interpersonal relationships, planning, organizing, and follow-up.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; adept at presenting and facilitating communications to key stakeholders.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates activities and operations in EEG, EMU, MEG, TMS, and Neurology clinic to meet department and hospital goals and objectives. Accountable for overall results in areas of responsibility.
  • Ensures department operational excellence. Manages and coordinates clinical and operational policies and procedures for the assigned departments.
  • Strives to develop and implement system wide strategies to address the care of the patient.
  • Formulates short and long-range plans for service development; sets goals and develops strategies for meeting those goals; anticipates possible problems and prepares contingent strategies.
  • Manages the operating and capital budgets in areas of responsibility. Makes sound decisions on use of resources in support of strategies and priorities. Controls expenditures, seeks to reduce costs, and budgets for new equipment.
  • Oversees workflow and staff schedules for efficient daily operations; coordinates work schedules, coverage plans, and assignments for the clinic staff.
  • Maintains and develops a competent, productive, and quality conscious workforce by hiring, evaluating performance, counseling, training, issuing corrective action, and recommending promotion or discharge of department personnel according to the MLH value system.
  • Establishes and monitors goals for the assigned departments.
  • Ensures integration and coordination of quality, service, and efficiency improvements in day-to-day operations.

Physical Requirements

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
